Every time I ever hear anybody say I’m beginning a fat loss plan, it always starts with “I’m going on a diet!”
Ok, in principle a healthy diet rich with colours, whole, natural foods and healthy variations is exactly what is needed. The Problem; the word diet from my observation is associated with some short term plan of restriction, both in calories and the foods you eat. This normally involves forcing yourself to live off some type of a powder ‘shakes’ and a bowels of cereal everyday!
Restricting yourself in such ways is not only has huge health implications, but there are several reasons why this has never and will never work.
1. It’s horrible as hell and relies soley on painstakingly forcing yourself to last with it for as long as possible. Until you get so bored, hungry and nutrient deprived you return back to your ‘normal’ eating habits with a vengeance!
2. The foods that are part of your so called ‘diet’ are normally about as far away from food as you can get. Highly processed breakfast cereals which are recognisable to your body only as sugar are a guaranteed way to begin storing more fat. Shakes containing artificial flavourings, colourings and sweeteners, that lead to bad regulation of hormonal pathways, poor digestion and outright cravings for sugary carbohydrates. This really is a recipe for disaster such lack of vital nutrients and restrictions in proteins and fats will damage and slow down your metabolism. Not forgetting, the further loss of nutrition needed for several other areas of vitality throughout the body that will lead to weakened immune system and further health implications also.
3. Another hugely common aspect of these media fuelled ‘diets’ is to stop eating anything containing ‘fat’. Ok let’s clear this up; healthy fats such as the ones found in oily fish, olive & coconut oil, nuts and seeds and high quality meat products are absolutely vital. Not only do they have several benefits such as regulation of skin, eye, hair and brain health. The enzymes actually help you to break down fat cells to catalyse (speed up) fat loss! To stop eating food containing fat and to throw in as much refined carbohydrates as you like e.g. White pasta, bread, cereals, will guarantee that your body will be storing more fat. This is because your body recognises these simply as sugar and whilst they do not contain dietary fat, your body soon finds a way to store that excess sugar as body fat!
4. After your huge effort and determination to stick with this magical restricted diet that has promised so much. What happens? Yes ok, you get a rapid weight loss for two weeks. This is because you have starved your body and as lifeline stress response you have begun breaking down your lean muscle tissue (which is dense and heavy) for your body to use for fuel. So the rapid weight loss is NOT fat loss, it is muscle loss and you now have more total body fat. This is natural response mechanism that the body uses in times of need and stress, as our caveman ancestors would have needed to. Body fat being more useful for warmth and protection. As a direct result you have slowed your metabolism and look and feel terrible for it, even though the scales result looks remarkable.
Then what? Your body adapts to the situation and the rapid weight loss comes to a sharp holt. Your body gives you all the signs of starvation including tiredness, illness and fatigue. You battle on until you simply can’t take it anymore.. You go back to your ‘normal’ diet and hey presto, your now damaged body puts all the weight back on plus more as a reward for your hard work!
Ok, so what is the answer to fat loss and diets?
What you need to begin is a NUTRITION PROGRAMME. A plan that is far from restriction but is full of foods that will regenerate, vitalise and regulate the bodies operations providing optimal health. With a sound nutrition plan you will for sure be adding MORE to your diet and eating far more regularly. You see, nutrition refers to what our bodies need for nourishment of our organism and to achieve health and vitality. A healthy body never stores fat from my observations. Whilst people with more body fat are normally starving and unhealthy.
A good nutrition programme will contain whole foods from all nutrient types including fats, proteins and carbohydrates. We need fresh, minimally processed, organic foods that eliminate rubbish and toxins. We need provide satiety and begin long term lifestyle plan NOT make yourself hungry!
Having worked with many Clients to help them achieve their dream bodies, they are often hugely surprised by the fact that they can eat more, not count calories and get startling results.
So remember, ‘you are what you eat’ and ‘a healthy body is a happy body’. So please stop restricting yourself to two shakes and four carrots a day or any other BS diet. Look for natural, whole, organic and fresh foods and see awesome results.

Question about Kenny Chesney merchandise?
I’m a HUGE Kenny Chesney fan. I have invested a small fourtune into buying his merchandise. But I seem too have too much now and there’s some things I want to get rid of. One being one of my charcoal drawings. It’s never been hung on my wall. I paid 200 dollars for it, and then put it in a nice frame. It was drawn by Tim Holt, Kenny Chesney’s official crew member and is signed by him. And has the printed number of what copy number it is. I need opinions on how much I should charge for it to sell it. Thanks in advance
considering it’s a picture of kenny chesney you should probably just burn, and the fact that you paid american dollars for that blows my mind. I would have maybe paid 20 pesos, and used it to start a camp fire. I really hope you find something better to do with your funds. Put that money in a CD or buy some stocks.

The Magnificent Ambersons [VHS] $16.97 Citizen Kane is considered by many to be Orson Welles’s masterpiece, but more than a few prominent critics have argued that his second film, 1942′s The Magnificent Ambersons, is an even greater artistic achievement. It’s certainly the source of the most painful injustice of Welles’s brief career in Hollywood, having been seized from the director’s control, drastically cut from over two hours to me… |

Monster That Challenged The World [VHS] $1.74 A highlight among 1950s creature-features, The Monster That Challenged the World is a near-classic B movie that never goes out of style. Navy lietenant Twillinger (Tim Holt) takes command, assisting the obligatory scientist (Hans Conreid) while wooing the … |

Treasure of Sierra Madre [VHS] $1.09 Ranked at No. 30 on the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 all-time greatest American films, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a genuine masterpiece that was, ironically, a box-office failure when released in 1948. At that time audiences didn’t accept Humphrey Bogart in a role that was intentionally unappealing, but time has proven this to be one of Bogart’s very best performances. It’s a… |

The Magnificent Ambersons $6.60 Orson Welles’ second film is a daring study of the decline of a wealthy family in the late 19th-century Midwest and the relationship between an arrogant son and his family’s matriarch. Initially ill-received and edited at RKO’s insistence, the film has gone on to become a landmark drama. Based on Booth Tarkington’s novel; Joseph Cotten, Tim Holt, Dolores Costello, and Agnes Moorehead star. 88 min…. |
