Satellite television is frequently associated with the number of movie and event channels which are offered; however, satellite television offers much more than just television shows and movies. In fact, satellite television offers a wealth of music options as well. It is certainly safe to say that with the number of music channels offered by satellite television you would never run out of something to listen to regardless of your music tastes.
If you happen to be a rock fan, your most difficult decision might be deciding on which rock channel you want to listen to. This is because you will be able to choose from not just one rock channel but several with options ranging from classic rock to modern rock. Each channel is packed with the best tunes from each sub-genre.
There is also a wide selection of country music available as well. For those country music lovers who are aficionados of classic country music and fans of such artists as Patsy Cline, Tex Ritter and Johnny Cash will love the selections available through the classic country music channels. Of course, if you are more of a modern country music fan, you will no doubt love the fact that you can listen to artists such as Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride as often as you wish.
In addition, you will find that there are a number of music channels with are offered through satellite television which is not easy to find elsewhere. One of those options is a channel that is devoted entirely to Big Band music. This genre of music which was popular during the 20th century is frequently not available on regular radio programming. Hawaiian music is another channel option which might be difficult to locate if you live outside the Hawaiian Islands. If you happen to like the lively sound of this music; however, you can listen to it to your heart’s content through satellite TV.
Other unique music channels frequently offered through DirectTV and Dish Network service providers include moodscapes, reggae, love songs, light classical, kid’s music, blues and hits from certain eras such as the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. In addition, during the holidays usually at least one channel is devoted entirely to holiday music. If you are hosting a holiday party, it is quite simple to change the channel to the holiday music channel and have wonderful holiday music as the backdrop for your party without every having to worry about changing the CD.
Many consumers find that the ability to listen to music channels through their satellite television provider is actually better than listening to music through the radio. One of the main advantages of listening to the numerous music channels available through satellite television, beyond the extensive variety, is the fact that there are absolutely no commercials. You can turn the channel to whichever music channel you like and listen to nothing but your favorite genre of music all day and all night long if you wish with no worries over commercial interruptions.
Whitney Alen tip – both major is a satellite TV providers carry some form of satellite music. The Dish Network carries SIRIUS and DirectTV carries XM. Both providers carry a limited package of music programming. Check their websites for a complete lineup.

High Noon
I dreamed of a Hillybilly Heaven
Daddy’s last Letter
Boll Wevil
Jealous Heart
It was HIGH NOON as Marshal Matt Dillon sat in his office, that hot July day. He picked up the mail and started sifting thru it, when his eyes suddenly riveted on one particular envelope….he could see that it was a letter from his father. His father had died, just last month. As he started reading it, tears started rolling down his rugged cheeks.
“DADDY’S LAST LETTER. I’ll treasure it all my life,” he said wiping yet another salty reminder of grief, with his shirt sleeve. In the letter, his father described what had occured the night before:
“Son, last night I DREAMED OF A HILLBILLY HEAVEN. It was beautiful. Aside from one angel that looked quite a bit like a BOLL WEVIL, it was beautiful. I even saw your mother. She no longer had a JEALOUS HEART. She was sweet and lovely, just as she was the day I married her.” Matt finished reading the missive, and gently folding it, tucked it in a safe place. “Well, that’s enough sentiment for one day. I think I’ll throw on some of that cheap colonge and go try to rustle(get it?!) something up with Kitty. Yipee ky A A A A !!”
