I want to get my signed Comic graded, but was unaware of the witness deal. What shoud I do?

At Comic-Con this year, I found Rob Liefeld & Fabian Necieza. I’m a HUGE Deadpool fan, so I got my New Mutants #98 signed by the two of them. I wanted to get it graded, but CGC told me you need to have a witness with you to get it signed to verify that it’s the persons signature. I understand the policy, but what should I do? What is the difference if I send it in like it is or not? I’m just lost.

I haven’t heard of that. Maybe it is unique to comic books. because when i get sports things autographed people don’t have to be there to witness it, though if i want it authenticated as genuine i send it to a company and they determine if the signature is fake or not.

maybe this is because artist sign their names so differently sometimes?
