How to go about upgrading a Dell Dimension 3000? Or forget it? Music recording, PC gaming, ect.?

Well I just received a free Dell Dimension 3000 from my uncle. Here are some general specs:

The Dimension 3000 is fine for general web surfing, e-mail and word processing, listening to music or even as a cheap file server, but for gaming- forget it. It could play Counterstrike but nothing more demanding.

Aside from the dog-slow Celeron processor and very low memory capacity, the Dimension 3000 does NOT have a dedicated video slot (either AGP or PCI-E) for standalone video cards. It has only PCI slots, so it’s upgradeability sucks.

The best video card it can take would be a Radeon X1550 or GeForce 9400GT, which cost around $70 and perform worse than $40 PCI-Express cards. And even after that upgrade, you’d curse the slow processor.
