would metal nearby a subwoofer damage its magnet when its powered?
i have my subs magnet side out of the box…and i have them turned so the subs are rite behind the back seats…and there are metal bars in the back of the seats and w/the seats closed…the metal is rite next to the magnet on the subwoofer…the bars are covered by fabric..but the speakers are an inch from the bars which are magnetic…would it damage my subwoofer in any way?? or will it damage the magnet?? or could it damage my amp or system in any way at all?
I’ve never heard of that happening. I’m pretty sure that the papers that come with the sub will tell you of improper installation, such as installing too close to metal objects. I doubt it would hurt it since the magnet is already surrounded in metal, and would still have some good buffer space between the back of the sub and the frame of the car seats.
