Why in Degrassi next generation is it set and filmed in toronto canada but they all sound american?
i thought they would have sounded canadian.
Many foreign actors regularly do “American” accents. Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) is English, Nichole Kidman is Australian, etc.
The actors in Degrassi may be American, in fact.
The truth is, it is less expensive to shoot in Canada. American unions make the cost of shooting in America too much for many productions. Toronto and Vancouver often substitute for American cities in TV and films.
